WoW Midnight 12.1.5 is live

Midnight’s 12.1.5 update is live. Here’s what’s in it.

The same Blizzard overview names what is in the update:

• Story campaign: The Promise of Tomorrow
• One-boss raid: The Unbinding of Kith’ix (Story Mode, Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic; Mythic is a flexible 15–25)
• Labyrinth of Kindo’jan, a nine-chamber Delve-like gauntlet with Valeera Sanguinar as companion
• Outdoor Aqir Invasions in Eversong or Zul’Aman: ten minutes each hour
• Season 2 mid-season refresh: Ascendant Venomstones

Next up is Echoes of the Worldcore (next Midnight update: Return to Dornogal, Talebound, Lorewalking). Blizzard says that one is currently on the PTR. The PTR preview is still an official Blizzard post, but it is not live content.

The campaign and the raid

Ula’tek is down, and that woke something worse. The Promise of Tomorrow sends you between Quel’thalas and Zul’Aman, down to the deepest part of the Coiled Isle, for a last stand against the C’Thraxxi general Kith’ix. You fight him with Lady Liadrin in The Unbinding of Kith’ix, a one-boss raid hidden beneath the Vaults of Ula’tek.

Labyrinths, explained

Love Delves? Labyrinths are the bigger version: sprawling, mega-dungeon-style runs with their own progression and unlocks. You can clear one in a single long session or chip away at it over time, with Valeera Sanguinar along as your companion. The first one, Kindo’jan, is an old Amani funeral complex full of looters, Vilebranch and angry spirits.

Aqir Invasions

For ten minutes every hour, Eversong or Zul’Aman turns into a chain of public events that ends in a boss fight. Each invasion picks from six scenario types, three combat and three non-combat, and the combat ones can roll one of eight affixes. A few to watch for:

• Aqir Burrower knocks you into the sky if you get close.
• Void Infestation makes some aqir explode a few seconds into combat.
• Web Weavers will web a player unless you interrupt their channel.

How to get Ascendant Venomstones

Talk to Orin Straylight near the Catalyst in Silvermoon City and finish “Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom.” After that, Venomstones drop from Heroic and Mythic raid bosses, Mythic+ keys at +10 and up, Tier 11 Bountiful Delves and Nightmare Prey Hunt Champion gear chests. Ten of them raise the item level of a fully upgraded Season 2 Hero, Mythic or top-quality Tidal crafted weapon, trinket or necklace.
