Steam refund window checker
Can you still refund that game? Steam usually allows a refund within two weeks of purchase and under two hours played. Type the purchase date (or the release date for a pre-purchase) and the hours the library shows. Inside both is the usual window. Outside it, Steam still says you can ask. You still file the request on Steam.
Enter the window-start date and the playtime Steam shows.
How it works
You're inside the window if it's under 14 days and under 2 hours.
Valve’s page: refunds via help.steampowered.com, for any reason, if the request is in the required return period and, for games, the title has been played for less than two hours. They also say that even outside those rules you can ask. VAC bans lose the refund on that game. Purchases outside Steam (third-party keys) are not refundable there.
Common questions
How long do you have to refund a game on Steam?
Within 14 days of purchase and with less than 2 hours of playtime. Steam says you can request a refund for almost any reason as long as you meet both limits.
Can I get a Steam refund after 2 hours or 14 days?
Possibly. Steam says you can still request one and they'll review it. You may also have extra rights in some countries if the game is faulty.
How do Steam refunds work for pre-orders?
You can request a refund anytime before a pre-ordered game releases. After launch, the 14-day window starts from the release date, and the 2-hour playtime limit still applies.
Can I refund DLC or Steam Wallet funds?
Yes, with conditions. DLC can be refunded within 14 days if you've played the main game less than 2 hours since buying it and the DLC wasn't used up or changed. Unused wallet funds can be refunded within 14 days.
Where do I request a Steam refund?
