CPS = clicks / seconds

How often the pointer reports a move is a different test: the polling-rate tester. How long you wait after a color change is the reaction time test. A scored run is the Play click-speed game.

Common questions

How is CPS calculated?

CPS (clicks per second) is your total clicks divided by the 5- or 10-second window. The timer starts on your first click.

Why is my CPS lower here than on another site?

Browsers can merge very fast clicks, especially when the tab is busy, and every site counts a little differently. Close other tabs and compare runs on the same site.

Does a higher polling rate increase CPS?

No. Polling rate is how often your mouse reports movement, and clicks are separate events. Use the polling rate tester if you want to check your mouse's report rate.

Can I hold the mouse button to click faster?

No. Each press counts as one click, and holding the button doesn't auto-repeat.

What is a good CPS score?

Around 6 to 7 CPS is typical for normal clicking, and 10 or more is fast. Techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking can push it higher.
