A game review on YuvalGG is a record of time spent, not a verdict copied from a launch trailer. Individual games get their own articles after they are actually played. This page is the shape those articles have to fit.

Say what was played

Name the game, the platform, and the mode. Story, ranked, co-op, and a private lobby are different products. Say how long the time was. “I played it” is not a duration.

If the time was one evening, the review is allowed to say so. It is not allowed to sound like a year.

Answer three questions

  • Who is this for?
  • What did the time show, in a specific mode?
  • Who should skip it?

A score can sit under those answers. It cannot replace them. A number with no mode and no hours is a thumbnail.

Keep unplayed claims out

If a mode was not opened, say it was not opened. Late-game builds, ranked seasons, and optional stories do not get praise or a warning from a trailer. The reader can tell when a paragraph was not played. Write the gap in one sentence and move on.

Label anything paid

If the copy was provided, the time was sponsored, or a link pays a commission, the review says that on the page. A paid review is still a review of the time spent. Payment does not fill in the modes that were not played.

One game, one article

Do not bury five games in one roundup unless each one has the same three answers. A roundup that is only a list of names is a bookmark list. Publish the bookmark list when you are ready to stand behind each line.

Common questions

Will every game get a score?

No. A score is optional. The hours, the mode, and the three answers in this article are not.

Can a free weekend be a full review?

It can be a first-hour note. A full review says it kept going after that hour, and for how long.
